A family hotel on Cremorne Street, quietly doing its own thing since 2003
Pluremi is a 48-room hotel and private dining house run by the same family since 2003, on Cremorne Street, Melbourne, with a 22-year history and 9,200 returning guests.
Twelve rooms above a coffee roastery
When we opened in 2003, the building held twelve guest rooms, a shared bathroom on each floor, and a coffee roastery that started humming at 5am whether you liked it or not. The neighbourhood was mostly warehouses and panel beaters. Guests came because it was cheap and close to the city, and because the woman at the desk would remember your name by the second night.
Over the next two decades we bought the two buildings either side, stripped everything back to brick in 2018, and rebuilt the place floor by floor in 2023. The bones are the same. The welcome is too.

Small hotel, long memory
We are not trying to become a chain. The plan for the next ten years is to keep the same size, keep the same team, and keep the rate honest. Everything else follows from that.
"A hotel is a set of habits. Get the small ones right and the rest looks after itself."
Elliot Ramsden, owner
Direct bookings only
No reseller channels take a cut of your rate. Book direct and you always get the best number.
Local suppliers
The linen is from Fitzroy, the soap from Brunswick, the coffee beans from four streets away.
Staff who stay
Our head housekeeper joined in 2011. The front desk manager arrived in 2015. Nothing else needs saying.
Slow upgrades
We replace things when they stop working, not when a designer says the look has shifted.
The people you will actually meet
Nine of us have been here more than five years. The rest joined in the last three, mostly through friends already on staff.
Elliot Ramsden
Took over from his parents in 2018. Handles the numbers, the building work, and the complaints that need a real apology.
Priya Nair
Has run the desk since 2015. Knows every guest who has stayed more than twice, and most of the ones who have not.
Tomasz Wojcik
Came from a restaurant in Hobart in 2019. Writes every event menu himself and refuses to serve the same dish twice in a month.
Joanne Ferraro
Joined in 2011. Trains every new room attendant herself and has opinions about pillow arrangement that we do not argue with.
What we spend our days on
Signature Suites & Harbour Rooms
Six categories from a compact harbour room up to a two-bedroom residence. All rebuilt in 2023 with proper glazing, working kettles, and beds chosen after sleeping on eight different samples.

Events & Private Dining
Three rooms for ten, twenty-four, or sixty guests. Chef-written menus, a coordinator on the floor from two hours before, and a short list of things we will not do because they ruin the evening.
See spacesA few dates worth keeping
2003 — The doors open
Twelve rooms above a coffee roastery. The first guest was a visiting architect who stayed for eleven nights.
2011 — The first dining room
We took the ground floor back from the roastery and opened a small dining room with twenty-four covers.
2018 — Second building
Acquired the adjoining property. Room count went from eighteen to thirty-two over the following year.
2023 — Full rebuild
Every floor closed and rebuilt over eight months. Forty-eight rooms, three private dining spaces, one very patient team.
